ProLifeNews.tv recently interviewed Kristan Hawkins, National Director for Students for Life of America. We asked her why they were sponsoring an event in Cincinnati, Ohio. She replied:
“We’ve been having “Defund Planned Parenthood” events in Washington (DC), and we decided to move it to Cincinnati this time to ask the NAACP to join us in our camplaign, to call on congress to investigate “Defund Planned Parenthood”. The NAACP is the largest organization to represent African American rights. What better right is there than the right to life?”
There were many black leaders present, including Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rev. Childress from BlackGenocide.org, Day Gardner of the National Black Pro-Life Union and more.
The NEA held their annual convention in Washington D.C. on July 2nd. They were met with 2 press conferences that day, one at the Family Research Council and one in front of the Washington Convention Center.
This video is part 1 of 3 of the speakers at the Family Research Council. Speakers in this video include Dr. Charmaine Yoest (the introduction), Rev. Clenard Childress and Bob Pawson.
Black leaders from across America today assembled in front of the RNC and DNC buildings in Washington D.C. to demand that the politicians stop funding Planned Parenthood, and also to stop taking political contributions from them, which they claim is 10 million dollars this year alone.
The March for Life is taking place today in Washington D.C.. Hundreds of thousands of Pro-Life people will show up for the unborn, who can’t speak for themselves.
Former Attorney General Phil Kline from Kansas is speaking now at the Blogs4Life Conference, an event held at the Family Research Council on the morning of the March.
Senator Sam Brownback spoke earlier.
Sen. Brownback
Peter Shinn from ProLifeUnity, one of the founders of this event, spoke earlier on the need for Pro-Life people to do everthing possible to end abortion immediately.
It is time to stop trying to please those who oppose life. We try to blend in or not make waves to appeal to the masses in so many different ways. To name a few:
> We try to not be too “Christian”
> We try to not be so “conservative”
> We try to appeal to Democrats
> We are constantly arguing with people who disagree with us
> We try to skirt around the health of the mother, life of the mother issue
We don’t have to defend our position. People who are for abortion or do nothing to help end it are turning their backs on the killing of human beings. We don’t choose to do that. It’s that simple!
