This just in, Joe Healy, the Associate Director of Defend Life - DefendLife.org, reports that 18 individuals were arrested today in Maryland while showing the true face of abortion. In his Email, Healy had this to say about what happened:
This is Joe Healy in for Jack Ames, who is one of 18 of my pro-life friends who were arrested in Bel Air, MD, this evening while peacefully holding pro-life signs on the side of the road.
They were not told what they were being arrested for, nor were they read their rights during arrest.
ProLifeNews.tv recently interviewed Kristan Hawkins, National Director for Students for Life of America. We asked her why they were sponsoring an event in Cincinnati, Ohio. She replied:
“We’ve been having “Defund Planned Parenthood” events in Washington (DC), and we decided to move it to Cincinnati this time to ask the NAACP to join us in our camplaign, to call on congress to investigate “Defund Planned Parenthood”. The NAACP is the largest organization to represent African American rights. What better right is there than the right to life?”
There were many black leaders present, including Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rev. Childress from BlackGenocide.org, Day Gardner of the National Black Pro-Life Union and more.
Black leaders from across America today assembled in front of the RNC and DNC buildings in Washington D.C. to demand that the politicians stop funding Planned Parenthood, and also to stop taking political contributions from them, which they claim is 10 million dollars this year alone.
Right to Life Montgomery Country recorded a message to America from Alveda King, Niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. She says that:
“African Americans, we have a heritage of brotherhood, we have overcome much to survive. But today, there’s a genocide threatening to erase our hope and eliminate our future. It is three times as likely to strike black women. It has claimed 14 million of our children...”
The March for Life is taking place today in Washington D.C.. Hundreds of thousands of Pro-Life people will show up for the unborn, who can’t speak for themselves.
Former Attorney General Phil Kline from Kansas is speaking now at the Blogs4Life Conference, an event held at the Family Research Council on the morning of the March.
